Autodesk EAGLE (retired)

Long-popular PCB design tool that Autodesk retired on 7 June 2026, steering users to Fusion; many legacy designs still live in EAGLE files.
EAGLE was a widely used schematic and PCB tool among startups and hobbyists, and many open-hardware designs were published as EAGLE files. Autodesk folded it into Fusion and set an end-of-life date of 7 June 2026, after which EAGLE is no longer sold or supported; Fusion's electronics features read EAGLE designs.
Where it bites: products whose only design files are in EAGLE need a migration plan. Fusion and KiCad both import EAGLE designs, but libraries, design rules, and outputs need checking after import, and old designs often contain obsolete parts.
Outside help is worth it for migrating designs, verifying imported footprints and nets, regenerating manufacturing files, and updating legacy boards for current parts.
Common requests
- Migrating EAGLE designs to KiCad or Fusion
- Checking libraries and footprints after import
- Regenerating manufacturing outputs
- Updating old designs for obsolete parts
Founder takeaway
If your product's board files are still in EAGLE, migrate them now and verify the result against a known-good build.
